Role: Environmental Clerk of Works
Location: Thurso
Duration: 5 Months
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm.
Responsibilities
* Promote best practice in environmental and sustainability matters in conjunction with the wider function.
* Carry out regular inspections of sites and workplaces to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures, and the relevant Statutory Provisions.
* Assist with incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
* Collate Business / Contract environmental and sustainability statistics in a timely manner and submit to the Environmental Management & wider function for reporting purposes.
* Review environmental information to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Implement Environmental campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the environmental Management.
* Advise and support project teams with managing their environmental and sustainability responsibilities.
* Provide advice, support, and assistance to all project personnel to enable them to manage their environmental responsibilities.
* Assist the team to identify any environmental consents / permits or exemptions that are required and ensure they are obtained.
* Maintain records as necessary to ensure compliance with Legislation, Company procedures and Contract Requirements.
* Protect sensitive habitats, watercourses, soils and species around Banniskirk.
* Ensure compliance with planning conditions, SEPA requirements, and mitigation contained within the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).
* Water environment protection
* Ecological protection and supervision
* Waste materials and pollution control
* Non conformance reporting
