Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Term: Permanent
Location: Huddersfield
Salary: GBP 40,000 – 60,000 (dependent on experience)
My client designs and manufactures equipment for the water industry. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Huddersfield on a permanent basis.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / Mechanical Engineering position
* Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
* Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics would be beneficial
* A background in water related industries would also be ideal – specifically wastewater
* 5+ years experience with sheet metal design and manufacture
* Proficiency using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
* Knowledge of a variety of materials and manufacturing processes
* Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Proficiency using MS Office
* Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
* Ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities
* Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
* Designing conveyors and other machinery in the automation sector
* Liaising with manufacturing providers and clients
* Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
* Updating 3D models and drawings
* Creating BOMs
* Checking drawings for sign off
* Working in a small multidisciplinary team on varied projects
