To succeed as a Restaurant Shift / Floor Manager, you should be a strong leader and a positive team player with previous experience in restaurant or customer service environments within a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and flexibility to work various hours (including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends) are essential.

Key Responsibilities
As a Tim Hortons Restaurant Shift/Floor Manager, you will support the Restaurant Manager with responsibilities including:
Customer Service
* Lead by example, prioritizing customers in all actions.
* Maintain a customer-focused approach in all restaurant operations.
* Manage staff scheduling to meet customer demand.
* Support the team to ensure operational efficiency.
* Conduct regular store walks from the customer's perspective.
People
* Encourage staff to share suggestions and concerns.
* Provide performance feedback, set goals, and offer support and guidance.
* Create a positive team environment, ensuring respect and dignity for all employees and adherence to anti-discrimination policies.
* Manage performance issues in collaboration with HR.
Driving Sales
* Understand sales trends, popular products, and peak times, adjusting accordingly.
* Ensure products are correctly merchandised and adequately stocked, supporting marketing campaigns.
* Train staff in upselling and suggestive selling techniques.
* Identify areas for improvement, motivating employees through incentives to foster continuous enhancement.
Operations
* Monitor KPIs such as sales, staff turnover, food safety, and health & safety standards.
* Set an example by maintaining composure under pressure.
* Manage weekly stock orders and quality checks on incoming supplies.
* Oversee maintenance schedules for equipment.
* Ensure optimal inventory levels.
* Handle opening and closing procedures.
* Maintain cleanliness and operational standards, focusing on food quality, hygiene, customer experience, speed of service, and hospitality.
* Implement and follow health and safety protocols, reporting incidents promptly to the Regional Manager.
* Be flexible to work various shifts as part of the management team.
Key Requisites
* Previous experience managing restaurants.
* Flexible and disciplined work approach.
* Experience in a food environment is advantageous but not essential.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Commitment to high standards of food hygiene and safety.
* Experience handling customer complaints.
* Adherence to health and safety procedures.
