The Company: Roberts & Prowse, based in Swindon, is a Steelwork Fabrication and Specialist Welding Contractor operating throughout the Home Counties, South West & South East of the UK. Due to sustained success and growth, we are recruiting for a Welding & Fabrication Engineer to join our busy team.
The Role: As a Welding & Fabrication Engineer, you will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager and will be responsible for undertaking welding & fabrication projects at our Swindon Factory.
Duties include:
1. Operate power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, weld, and fabricate metal components
2. Perform MIG, MAG, TIG & MMA welding techniques to join metal parts
3. Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
4. Assemble structural steelwork and fabricated metal parts using mechanical knowledge
5. Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet project specifications
6. Carry out all work to a high standard while complying with all relevant health and safety standards

The Person: To be considered, you must be fully qualified with a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Welding & Fabrication Engineer, including:
* Proficient in MIG, MAG, TIG & MMA welding techniques and processes
* Ability to operate power tools and hand tools effectively and safely
* Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations
* Experience in fabricating metal components
* Mechanical knowledge for assembling metal parts
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to read drawings and specifications
* A full driving license
Essentially, you will be a Time Served Welding & Fabrication Engineer with experience in Engineering & Fabrication Industries. You should work accurately and effectively with minimal supervision and perform well under pressure.
