About the role
Applications are invited for a Laboratory & Cleanroom Technician to join the facilities of the Implanted Devices Group (IDG). This post offers a unique opportunity to support and contribute to the daily operation of the high-end research facilities within the Department of Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate will combine strong organisational and communication skills with a keen interest in developing their technical abilities.

About you
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (including Mathematics and English Language and a Science subject) or equivalent or having acquired relevant experience.
The applicant will have a profound awareness of Health and Safety requirements within a laboratory together with a practical interest in engineering.
The ideal candidate will have a practical interest in engineering, strong problemsolving ability, and a careful, accurate approach to technical tasks. They should be confident supporting students and demonstrating safe use of tools and equipment, with clear written and spoken communication that makes technical information accessible. Good judgement, flexibility, and strong organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage their own workload, work independently when needed, and contribute effectively as part of a team.
