An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Proposals Engineer to join a globally focused organisation. This role plays a critical part in supporting international sales activity by developing high-quality, technically robust and commercially competitive proposals across a diverse product portfolio.
Working at the intersection of sales, engineering and supply chain, you will analyse client requirements, define project scopes and produce accurate cost models to ensure proposals are both deliverable and profitable.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals in response to RFQs
* Analyse customer specifications, requirements and contractual documentation
* Develop accurate cost estimates aligned with margin and risk expectations
* Define clear scopes of work, including assumptions, exclusions and risks
* Collaborate with engineering teams to create compliant technical solutions
* Liaise with supply chain and suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times and technical input
* Support the full bid lifecycle, from initial enquiry through to handover
* Contribute to proposal strategy, value propositions and marketing initiatives
* Maintain and enhance proposal tools, templates and cost models
* Capture lessons learned to drive continuous improvement

* Ensure proposals are commercially viable and technically sound
* Support smooth transition from bid phase to project execution

About You
* Proven experience in a technical proposals, estimating or bid engineering role
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to build accurate cost models
* Ability to interpret technical specifications and develop practical solutions
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
* Experience working cross-functionally within engineering, sales and supply chain environments
