As SOCOTEC continues to grow, we’re expanding our Environment & Safety Division and are looking for a dedicated Asbestos Analyst to join our team and wear the badge with pride.
We’re seeking a proactive, adaptable, and committed professional who can work confidently both independently and as part of a team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in identifying, monitoring, and analysing asbestos to ensure the safety of buildings and the people who use them. Your expertise will support projects across diverse sectors, including defence, rail, roads, power stations, retail, heritage and service sectors, giving you the chance to make a real impact every day.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to)
* You’ll carry out testing, inspection and reporting to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with SOCOTEC quality procedures and Health & Safety guidelines
* Conducting asbestos surveys, air sampling, fibre counting, and four-stage clearance tests
* Maintaining and calibrating equipment, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
* Recording and issuing accurate analytical reports
* Liaising with clients, project managers, and internal teams to deliver work to agreed timescales
* Identifying opportunities to support SOCOTEC’s wider services
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate
* Must hold BOHS P403 and P404 qualifications (or RSPH Level 3 in Asbestos Air Monitoring)
* Industry experience essential with proven track record of conducting a similar role
* Hold a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good client-facing skills – confident in liaising with contractors, project managers, and stakeholders
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection/report writing
* Time management and ability to meet project deadlines
