Offer description

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and experienced Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Aylesbury, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Key Stage 1 and committed to supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into structured learning, developing literacy, numeracy, and personal skills.

The school has a strong ethos of collaboration, inclusion, and high expectations. Staff work together to ensure all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL, achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. Senior leadership is approachable, supportive, and committed to staff wellbeing and professional growth.

As a Year 1 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will encourage independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive. You will also collaborate closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to maintain high standards and continuity of learning.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 1 curriculum

* Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons

* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL

* Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour in the classroom

* Maintain a structured, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

* Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records

* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues

* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

* Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives

* Support enrichment activities, school events, and extra-curricular opportunities

* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are strictly followed

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Have experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1

* Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills

* Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable

* Show a clear commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing

* Work collaboratively as part of a professional and supportive team

The school is located in Aylesbury, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community. Staff benefit from a professional, well-resourced, and inclusive working environment that prioritises wellbeing and development.
