Journal's Editorial Intern
Salary: £23,132 per annum full time equivalent (pro‑rated for the 8‑week internship)
Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (2‑3 days per week in the office minimum)
Contract: Full Time (35 hrs/week) / Fixed Term (8 weeks)
About The Role
The Journals Editorial team manages 400 academic journals. The intern will support a range of tasks to gain a comprehensive understanding of the academic journal life cycle and develop skills for a career in publishing.
Responsibilities
* Assist and shadow various roles within the Journals Editorial team.
* Gain an overview of the academic journal life cycle from peer review to publication.
* Learn about Editors‑in‑Chief and scholarly associations that own our journals.
* Support key projects, including market and competitor research, meeting materials, reporting data and updating journal webpages.
* Spend time with related teams such as online peer review, operations, production, marketing, sales and book editorial.
Qualifications
* Excellent command of the English language and strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
* Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
