Overview
Are you passionate about making a difference in a young person\'s life? Do you have experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Prospero Teaching are looking for a compassionate, patient, and proactive Mentor to support a Year 5 pupil in the Farnborough area.
This young person is currently on a partial timetable and requires tailored support to help them thrive. The Mentor will play a key role in fostering a supportive learning environment and building positive relationships with the pupil and school staff.
Responsibilities
* Building self-esteem and confidence
* Engaging in light learning activities
* Fostering positive adult relationships
* Providing emotional support and encouragement
* Supporting emotional regulation and social skills
* Encouraging participation in learning tasks
* Liaising with school staff and other professionals as needed
About you / Qualifications
* Experienced in working with children with SEMH needs
* Calm, nurturing, and resilient
* Able to build trust and rapport with young people
* Creative in engaging children in learning and play
* Reliable and committed to consistent support
* Have at least 1 year of experience working within UK schools
* Confident in planning and delivering creative, learner-centred sessions
* Employs a nurturing, adaptable, and student-centred approach

Essential & Desirable Qualifications
* Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
* Trauma informed - desirable
Eligibility
* Hold right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide references upon request
* Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
