Role Overview

This post at Whipps Cross University Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, offers an experienced Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar (ST6-7 level or equivalent) the chance to further consolidate advanced clinical, surgical, and leadership skills. The role includes support toward the CESR/Portfolio pathway. Successful candidates will progress toward consultant positions through the department’s proven CESR pathway.

Contract and Training

The successful applicant will sign a 1‑year fixed term contract. At the end of that term, a review will be conducted by an educational supervisor and local faculty. Successful completion of the review, including evidence of WBPAs and other requirements, will lead to a 12‑month contract extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with an education supervisor and College Tutor to progress training in line with RCOG expectations.
• Support clinical activities within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team.
• Engage in teaching and mentorship of junior staff where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Experienced Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar at ST6–ST7 level or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
