Offer description

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Stop Smoking Practitioner to join our Essex Wellbeing service team. This is a hybrid role, predominantly working from home, with occasional travel required to Provide offices for training, team meetings, and service delivery activities. In this role, you will support individuals to quit smoking through evidence-based interventions, personalised quit plans, and ongoing behavioural support. You will work directly with service users through one-to-one sessions, telephone consultations, and digital platforms, helping them to set realistic goals and maintain a smoke-free lifestyle. Using recognised treatment programmes and behaviour change techniques, you will empower individuals to improve their health and reduce the risk of smoking-related illness. You will manage your own caseload, maintain accurate and up-to-date records, and work collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations to promote smoking cessation services. This is a varied and rewarding role where flexibility is essential, as occasional travel to offices and community locations may be required, along with participation in training, meetings, and service delivery activities. The main duties of this role include delivering evidence-based stop smoking support to service users through one-to-one sessions, telephone and digital consultations, in line with national treatment guidelines. You will assess individual needs, develop personalised quit plans, and provide behavioural support and advice on nicotine replacement therapies to help individuals achieve and maintain a smoke-free lifestyle. The role also involves maintaining accurate and timely records of service user interactions, managing your own caseload effectively, and providing follow-up support to prevent relapse. In addition, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations, contribute to community health promotion activities where required, and support the delivery of smoking cessation initiatives to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
