Inclusion Manager
to lead on programmes that champion diversity, strengthen community, and ensure every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinating inclusive activities and programmes that make the organisation accessible and welcoming for all students.
* Delivering existing initiatives, such as the BAME Ambassador Programme, and developing new targeted programmes for marginalised communities including international students and students with disabilities.
* Gathering student feedback and insights to shape programmes, refine approaches, and enhance the student experience.
* Line-managing student staff who deliver peer-to-peer programmes, strengthening community and engagement on campus.
* Collaborating with internal teams and university departments to ensure communications, events, and activities are inclusive and impactful.
* Providing advice and guidance to colleagues on inclusion-related matters, building organisational capacity in this area.
* Leading and supporting teams by modelling expected behaviours, ensuring accountability, and guiding staff on policies and procedures.
* Assisting in the delivery of key union events and projects, including Welcome Week, elections, and officer-led initiatives.
* Managing budgets, monitoring risks, and contributing to departmental planning, forecasting, and performance against key goals.
* Maintaining shared spaces and resources, ensuring responsibility for a professional and organised working environment.
Skills and Experience
* Significant experience in equity and inclusion.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Experience working collaboratively and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Creative and solution-focused, able to address barriers and develop programmes that promote inclusion.
* Excellent communication skills, confident managing sensitive conversations and initiatives that help people change their own thinking and practices.

Salary:
£35,158 - £38,686 per annum.
Location:
Manchester/The Union/Hybrid remote (option of splitting your time between the office and your home and/or another appropriate remote work location).
