Cad Technician - £28,000 per annum - Benefits include 28 days holiday, Onsite Parking, Pension - Based in Gillingham, Kent - 40 hrs per week (days role with early finish on Friday). Permanent position
Our client are a high reputable and well established engineering company based in Gillingham, Kent. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking to recruit a CAD Technician to join their team. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this role would suit someone who has good knowledge of tooling equipment and machines - alternatively our client will consider Graduates who are looking to get into their first design role.
Duties of the CAD Technician will include:
·Using Autodesk Inventor to design and create 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings
·Control all tooling design & draughting processes and procedures
·To create CAD models from existing drawings to aid manufacture of spares or replacement parts
·To design and develop tooling and equipment for the manufacture and conformance testing of both existing and new productions - this will include all documentation and calculations
·Liaise with other Toolmakers, Engineers and production staff to ensure best practice techniques are implemented and followed throughout the process
The successful CAD Technician will have:
·Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
·Good working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
·Strong computer skills - including MS Office
·Ability to work using own initiative, whilst also being part of a team
·Good analytical skills and excellent understanding of technical drawings & specifications
·Knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances
·Good problems solving skills
