Perioperative Services and our Cardiac Cather Labs
Our Cardiac Catheter Labs are housed in a state-of-the-art and rapidly expanding Perioperative Services facility. With 24 operating theatres—including a hybrid theatre, three endoscopy suites and two cardiac catheter labs.
Work is currently underway to add four additional world-class theatres and a new catheter lab, further increasing our capability and capacity by early 2026.
We’re focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across our day-of-surgery admissions, three post-anaesthesia care units and two discharge lounges. Our department thrives on collaboration, transformation and excellence. We’re now seeking passionate Nurse to join our team and help shape the future of cardiac care at Cabrini.
About Cardiac Catheterisation Lab
Cabrini’s Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories performs over 3000 procedures a year. More than 30 cardiologists, representing diagnostic, interventional and electrophysiology cardiology, have regular sessions within the Laboratory. Our Cath Labs are technology-driven, patient-focused, and designed for excellence. With advanced Interventional, Electrophysiology (EP), and Structural Heart capabilities, we are committed to providing the highest standard of cardiac care in a collective and innovative environment.
Elective services are offered Monday to Friday however a 24 hour on-call service is available to support the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to grow and be part of a highly dynamic team, providing exceptional care to our patients.
The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab practices independently and interdependently, assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions and delegation of care in accordance with legislation and protocols.
Key responsibilities will include:
10. Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team.
11. Delivering care to patients to meet Cabrini’s organisational goals.
12. Demonstrating attention to the needs of the patient and family to maintain privacy, dignity and confidentiality
About you
As a passionate, patient-focused Registered Nurse with relevant experience in the Cardiac Catheter Lab, who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will have the following:
13. Current registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse
14. Victorian Working with Children Check (if applicable)
15. Registered Nurse Grade 2 Year 3+ (essential)
16. Experience working in Cardiac Catheter Labs
17. Skills in both interventional and structural Cardiology (preferred)
18. Commitment to quality patient care and outcomes
19. Enthusiasm for participation in a team environment
