About the Role
As the Payroll Associate, you’ll take ownership of the internal payroll process and employee expenses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless delivery. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the main internal contact for payroll and expenses
Partner with a 3rd-party provider for monthly payroll processing
Compile and verify payroll data (starters, leavers, bonuses, etc.)
Perform payroll checks and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
Manage year-end payroll duties
Maintain accurate internal records in line with GDPR
Support pensions admin and auto-enrolment
Process employee expenses and offer clear policy guidance
Act as a payroll expert across new acquisitions during M&A activity
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Payroll experience and understanding of UK payroll legislation
Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills
Strong communication and Excel proficiency
Discretion with confidential information
Desirable:
CIPP qualified or working towards certification
Familiarity with third-party payroll providers and tools (e.g. Sage, ADP)
Experience in a financial or professional services firm
