The Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS) manages key environmental monitoring systems and datasets. As a Technical Advisor you will support Water Quality systems and data, and assist with other systems as required.
Key responsibilities
* Set up and manage users.
* Support users and resolve issues, especially during migration to the new My Environment application.
* Update, improve and maintain datasets.
* Respond to internal and external data requests.
* Support system improvement and upgrade projects.

The MDS team is a friendly, dispersed unit of enthusiastic specialists passionate about delivering monitoring systems and data to a broad range of internal and external customers.
Experience / skills required
Experience working with large complex datasets.
Willingness to develop new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems.
Motivated, organised, friendly, and helpful with strong attention to detail, comfortable working in a dispersed team.
Proactive and enjoys solving problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service.
Other desirable experience / skills
Experience using and managing environmental monitoring data systems.
Experience with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R.
Working knowledge of water quality monitoring.
Location & working arrangements
Work location is flexible, but you must have a base at one of our offices across England and maintain a presence there. Hybrid home/office working is offered, with some travel required for meetings.
Interview process
We plan to hold interviews via MS Teams towards the end of December / beginning of January. We’ll confirm interview dates for invited candidates.
