Student Work Experience Advisor
* Job Type: Temporary (with potential for extension)
* Location: South East London
* Hours per Week: 37 (Note: Lunch breaks are unpaid)
* Contract End Date: 31/08/2026
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Student Work Experience Advisor to join our team. This role involves facilitating high-quality work placements that align with students' career aspirations and course requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with employers, managing relationships, and ensuring all placements meet the college's standards.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Travel between Campuses to facilitate employer site visits and engage students with work experience opportunities.
* Use college systems to log work experience details accurately.
* Liaise with curriculum staff to meet work placement requirements and encourage further involvement.
* Generate work placement opportunities through various activities such as telesales, mail-outs, networking events, social media, and advertising.
* Conduct necessary Health and Safety checks with employers as required by the College’s Work Experience (WEX) Policy.
* Regularly meet with students, both in groups and individually, to identify their career aspirations and match them to suitable placements.
* Monitor student attendance, behaviour, and performance while on placement and liaise with personal tutors regarding any concerns.
* Keep the CRM system up-to-date regarding employer engagement and provide regular reports as requested.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Level 2 or above qualification, preferably in a business-related subject.
* Level 2 English and Maths.
* Strong understanding of government-funded work-based training and commercial products in the Further Education (FE) sector.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data reporting.
* Excellent planning, management, and communication skills.
* Ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience in generating sales appointments and providing Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) to students seeking work placements.
