Garment Technologist Wanted Uxbridge Area | Clothing Manufacturer Salary up to £40,000 bens Are you a confident, commercially minded Garment Technologist looking to take ownership of the technical process within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment? Our client, a well‑established clothing manufacturer in the Uxbridge area, is seeking a skilled technologist to join their growing team. As the Garment Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in driving product quality, ensuring compliance, and supporting the development of commercially strong ranges. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and conducting fit sessions, making decisions that balance speed, quality, and commercial requirements. Owning the fitting process, building trust with internal teams and suppliers. Analysing technical issues and providing clear, accurate comments to suppliers. Managing and processing samples efficiently, ensuring timelines are met. Collaborating with Design, Merchandising, and suppliers to provide technical guidance that improves quality and controls cost. Ensuring compliance with fibre composition regulations, product safety, and REACH legislation. Managing garment testing requirements, reviewing inspection reports, and resolving any non‑compliance issues. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, identifying creative technical solutions. Providing factories with clear testing and construction guidance to support production quality. The experience needed to be shortlisted Recent experience in a Garment Technologist role ( additional childrenswear experience highly desirable ). Strong multi‑product experience, confidently working across categories. Experience collaborating directly with factories and understanding production processes, equipment, and workflows. Pattern‑cutting knowledge (very desirable), along with grading and grade rules. Excellent understanding of garment construction, fabric technology, and testing requirements. Strong communication skills, with experience working across cultures. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent time‑management and agile problem‑solving skills. Confidence using Outlook, Excel, and Word, with willingness to broaden technical skills. Experience with PLM systems (advantageous).
