Job Summary
The Grinding Machinist will support our Toolroom with all aspects of surface grinding. This is a high precision engineering environment and parts are supplied predominantly to the automotive sector. In this role you will report to Stamping Team Leader.
Main Responsibilities
* Working with Engineering drawings to manufacture or maintain Tool sections to very tight tolerances.
* Working with Jones and Shipman 540 Manual Surface Grinding machines.
* Inspection of Tooling sections using various types of measuring equipment including micrometres, tool scopes etc.
* Working with Toolmakers within the Toolroom to prepare tooling for production runs.
* Basic machine maintenance
Requirements of Grinding Machinist
* Experience using various surface grinding machines (working to 0.002mm)
* Experience of cutting tools
* Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
* Precision measuring with optical capability
* Use of Quality Inspection equipment
