Overview
Policy & Public Affairs Manager - Northern Ireland. As Policy & Public Affairs Manager you'll help us achieve our vision of a world where diabetes does no harm. You will lead on the development and delivery of policy, public affairs and influencing activity, working alongside people living with, and at risk of, diabetes, and collaborating with colleagues within the Northern Ireland team and across the UK to drive change.
Responsibilities
* Influence MLAs, ministers, government officials and senior leaders within the Health Service to deliver on strategic objectives.
* Ensure Diabetes UK policy positions are relevant to a Northern Ireland context and deliver campaigns to turn these positions into action.
* Produce policy reports, consultation responses and briefings.
* Monitor health developments across Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK; horizon scan to identify issues affecting people living with diabetes.
* Collaborate with the National Director and a small team to shape policy and advocacy strategies.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience in an influencing role with the NI Executive; ideally experience within the health system.
* Strong relationship-building skills with a wide range of stakeholders to influence change.
* Excellent verbal communication; ability to produce high-quality reports and compelling cases for change.
* Attention to detail with the ability to translate complex data and policy to inform strategic decisions.
* Comfort working in a small team undergoing change and contributing to future development.
