Job overview
To provide an efficient administration and reception service to the Emergency Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is essential that you are able to work as part of a team; also independently as during certain times cover reduces to one person at night. Welcome all patients and those accompanying them to the department in a professional manner, using excellent customer service skills. Record all necessary information fully and accurately using analytical judgement. To assist the staff of the Emergency Department in data collection and gathering reports for analysis and auditing purposes. Ensure the smooth running of the department for patients, visitors and staff. To work with staff of all disciplines on the trust and other hospital staff as necessary to ensure an efficient service. To work in line with Hospital and Unit policies and procedures and accept responsibility for other duties within the department as required. Be an integral member of the healthcare team contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
