People Sharks Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Mentor with Teaching Assistant experience to support a secondary school setting. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about student welfare, behaviour management, and academic support within SEN, SEMH, and Alternative Provision environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, senior leadership, and pastoral teams to remove barriers to learning, improve attendance and wellbeing, and support students both inside and outside the classroom.
Key ResponsibilitiesPastoral & Behaviour Support
1. Promote the welfare, wellbeing, and progress of students across the school.
2. Provide 1:1 mentoring, emotional support, and behaviour interventions for disengaged or vulnerable learners.
3. Identify barriers to learning and work with staff to implement tailored support strategies.
4. Manage and reintegrate students temporarily removed from lessons.
5. Lead daily Breakfast Club, offering positive routines and early-morning pastoral support.
