Overview of the Role
Join our award‑winning win community in the EUNA region. You will be part of a five‑unit team that captures future opportunities and delivers compelling proposals. The role involves leading capture planning, proposal governance, and coaching across complex pursuits (>£10m). Line‑management and coaching responsibilities will follow with experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and facilitate capture planning with unit teams, from early opportunity identification through to detailed bid strategy development.
o Drive capture planning, maintain momentum and build preparedness.
o Research and intelligence gathering to differentiate our proposals.
o Develop clear bid strategies, storyboards and win themes with the delivery team.
o Match bid team structures to each pursuit and assign appropriate resources.
* Serve as the Proposal Bid Manager for our largest complex pursuits (>£10m), ensuring rigorous governance, best practice and review processes.
o Embed proposal governance and deliverability throughout the submission lifecycle.
o Promote a clear proposal plan covering activities, programme and deliverables.
o Lead communication across the team – kick‑offs, workshops and stand‑ups.
o Proactively manage team performance and delivery, taking early action where needed.
* Coach authors to produce high‑quality, client‑focused responses.
o Set storyboarding frameworks and support ‘one voice’ editing.
o Lead authoring of specific answers and model written responses.
o Lead storyboard, draft and production reviews; facilitate post‑submission lessons.
* Embed best practice throughout the regional win community.
o Identify and implement improvements to existing win approaches.
o Participate in regional win community events and training.
o Provide inputs to group initiatives to ensure local teams benefit from organisation‑wide practices.
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Experience managing high‑value, multi‑disciplinary prospects (>£10m) in the infrastructure sector.
* Understanding of public or sector procurement processes (frameworks, open competition tenders, design & build).
* First‑hand knowledge of bid planning, management and control techniques aligned with best practice.
* Collaborative skills in diverse teams, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong verbal and written communication; credibility and detail orientation to persuade clients.
* Self‑starter who balances teamwork and independence, managing workload in a pressurised environment.
Desirable
* APMP qualification or membership (preferably practitioner level).
* Training in Shipley, Miller Heiman, Mindflick or similar frameworks.
* Commercial awareness and business acumen.
* Proficiency with relevant software (CRM, knowledge management, AI).
* Innovative, persuasive and persistent mindset, challenging current practices positively.
