Technical Project Manager – Full Time, Permanent – TSL Lighting – Basingstoke

Reporting line: Head of Project Management.
Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and manage key lighting & rigging projects.
* Co‑ordinate pre‑production, systems design and delivery across various market sectors.
* Support sales with project delivery, logistics, technical solutions and client requirements.
* Act as Project Manager for all aspects, including technical specifications, equipment, crew schedules, power, structural specs, and transport.
* Produce Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) and stay current with H&S policy.
* Match client requirements to rental stock for profitable delivery.
* Provide out‑of‑hours support and advice to projects and clients.
* Negotiate vendor prices for sub‑hired equipment.
* Monitor progress, act as client point of contact for changes.
* Maintain up‑to‑date job files.
* Coordinate equipment prep in warehouse, liaise with Operations for show prep.
* Identify new project and sales opportunities, provide sales intelligence.
* Update Line Manager, Account Manager and systems on client contact and progress.
* Assist clients in specifying equipment lists and sourcing details.
* Manage project changes, collate charges for invoicing.
* Attend production, site, and client visits as required.
* Support Directors with business activities.
* Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
* Identify training needs and provide feedback for improvement.
* Comply with Health & Safety policy and company procedures.
Skills Required
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong management and coordination abilities.
* Commercially astute with understanding of profitability and cost control.
* Ability to manage situations with junior and senior colleagues.
* Working knowledge of lighting, rigging equipment, and practices.
* Advantage: knowledge of lighting networking, rigging safety.
* Strong IT knowledge; experience with WYSIWYG, Vectorworks or AutoCAD.
* Proficient in proposal writing, verbal and written communication.
* Numeracy: use spreadsheets to monitor budgets and profit margins.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Self‑motivated, initiative in fast‑moving environment.
* Full driving licence, own transport and passport required.
* Willingness to travel within UK, Europe and internationally on short notice.
Representing the Company
* Manage purchase and rental procurement for max revenue and profit.
* Provide project information to Marketing, attend trade shows.
* Host clients as appropriate.
* Stay up to date on technical issues and new products.
