Grafton Banks Finance is collaborating with a well-respected property company with offices across the UK. We are actively seeking a Finance Manager for the Brighton-based office. This is a full-time, permanent role managing a small team and reporting to the Board of Directors. The role oversees financial operations across the growing business, with responsibilities ranging from reconciliation and reporting to leadership and compliance. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity of financial information and maintain a robust, compliant accounting function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage the accuracy and maintenance of all property account reconciliations.
2. Support and oversee tenant and client payment plans, ensuring compliance and sound financial judgment.
3. Lead property onboarding and disengagement processes, including financial setup and liaising with internal teams.
4. Handle all aspects of property insurance, including renewals and maintaining appropriate coverage.
5. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
6. Establish and manage internal controls to safeguard client funds and ensure accurate financial reporting.
7. Prepare annual accounting packs, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules, coordinating with clients and accountants as needed.
8. Collaborate with property managers, surveyors, H&S, and the COO to provide financial insights and operational support.
9. Supervise outsourced bookkeeping and accounting partners, ensuring deliverables are met and reviewing quarterly management accounts.
10. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of property management accountants, setting objectives and conducting performance reviews.
11. Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting processes.
12. Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements:
* Practical experience as a Finance Manager with leadership responsibilities.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong IT skills, including experience with accounting software such as SAGE and XERO.
* Experience in property management and full finance management is preferred.
* Eligibility to work in the UK (work permit requirements if not a passport holder).
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, with hybrid working options available post-onboarding. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
