We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious, self‑motivated individual to work in our Inventory Management team. The role is based within the Supplies department of The Northumbria Specialist Hospital and the post holder will also be required to provide cover to the Inventory Management stock replenishment service on wards and departments throughout the hospital site.
Responsibilities
* Carry out all store duties, including receiving, unloading, checking quantity and quality of goods delivered and completing necessary documentation.
* Report discrepancies to companies and ensure all relevant documentation is accurate and complete.
* Maintain adequate medical and non‑medical supplies stock levels across the network using top‑up re‑ordering, barcode readers and liaison with clinical staff.
* Input data into the computerised stock control system and use a hand‑held scanner as required.
* Assist staff at all levels within the hospital environment and liaise with outside suppliers.
Qualifications
Essential skills and experience
* Receipt and distribution experience in a Stores/Receipt environment.
* Experience of stock control and receipting.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace and basic understanding of COSHH.
* Strong interpersonal skills, customer facing with a helpful, friendly and flexible attitude.
* Attention to detail, ability to work to deadlines and communicate with staff at all levels.
* PC literacy with experience of entering data into computerised systems.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
* Knowledge of COSHH.
* Customer service experience.
* Drivers licence or ability to travel to the four main hospital sites.
Additional Information
