About the Role This is a hands-on engineering role focused on maintaining mechanical, electrical, and building systems across laboratory and office environments. Our client is a fast-growing, ambitious science and technology organisation, developing a world-class campus in Oxford to support breakthrough research and innovation. They're investing heavily into their ever-expanding research centre and are seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to support the day-to-day operation of this complex research estate. Key Responsibilities You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of a complex research site, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance while supporting wider facilities and engineering teams. Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building systems Diagnose faults and deliver repairs to plant, equipment, and infrastructure Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, and compliance standards Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of systems and equipment Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors, including out-of-hours support via an on-call rota Essential Requirements Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Facilities Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) Strong working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively Highly organised, independent, and able to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment What's On Offer This is a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative, technically advanced research environment where engineering plays a critial role in supporting scientific discovery and innovation.
