SEN Teacher – Primary & Secondary Provision (Chorley)

A specialist SEN school in Chorley is seeking a dedicated and adaptable SEN Teacher to join their team from September. This provision supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils with a range of complex needs, with a strong focus on sensory-based and practical learning approaches.

The Role:
You will be responsible for delivering a tailored, engaging curriculum to pupils with diverse needs, many of whom benefit from hands-on, experiential learning rather than traditional academic approaches. Class sizes are small, and you will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants and a wider multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet individual EHCP targets
Support pupils with a range of needs including autism, sensory processing difficulties, and communication challenges
Use practical, sensory-based strategies to engage learners and promote progress
Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
Experience working with SEN pupils (in either mainstream or specialist settings)
A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to teaching
Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
