Do you have a background working in hospitality, or in a residential or visitor environment?
For over 40 years, a national children’s charity has supported families through the toughest moments of their lives, from funding vital research, to providing intimate care and wellbeing support to both families and their children.
Now recruiting for their first Retreat & Operations Manager, the charity is embarking on an exciting new chapter ahead of launching a dedicated Retreat in North Yorkshire, exclusively for families who have been affected by childhood cancer.
You will be responsible for:
* Overseeing the daily operations of the retreat, including accommodation, shared spaces, and the surrounding grounds
* Lead on health and safety, safeguarding and compliance across the site
* Maintaining the site and ensuring that buildings, gardens and facilities are well cared for
* Building relationships with local partners, suppliers, and community stakeholders
* Managing bookings, and coordinating guest experiences
* Welcoming families, ensuring they feel safe, supported and comfortable during their stay
* Managing the retreats budget and operational costs
* Establishing systems, processes and supplier relationships as the retreat evolves
With this being a brand-new service for the charity, naturally the role and function will evolve over time.
It is fundamental that this person continuously looks for opportunities to improve and enhance operational efficiencies and is passionate about developing the visitor experience.
We are seeking individuals who have:
* Experience working in hospitality
* Background in operations, and ideally property maintenance
* Practical understanding of health and safety compliance in a residential or visitor environment
* Ability to manage a varied workload with limited supervision
* Track record of building productive relationships
* Confidence to professionally engage with suppliers
* Emotional intelligence and a warm and friendly manner to interact with families
