About the Role
Northamptonshire Children's Trust is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Services. This team manages cases transferred from DAAT at the first Initial Child Protection Conference or Child in Need meeting and holds them until closure. If cases escalate to court or long-term care, they transfer to our Children in Care Teams.
We work with a wide range of children and young people with varying levels of need. Our service is committed to growth and innovation, and we welcome social workers with diverse interests and expertise.
Location: Wellingborough
Working arrangments: Need to be in the office to meet the needs of the service when requested up to 5 days a week
Key Responsibilities:
Manage safeguarding cases from initial transfer through to closure.
Undertake statutory assessments and visits in line with child protection and CIN requirements.
Develop and review child protection and child in need plans.
Prepare reports for conferences, reviews, and court proceedings when required.
Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency professionals.
Respond flexibly to service needs, including office-based work up to 5 days per week.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with policy and legislation.
Skills & Experience Required:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Strong safeguarding experience and ability to manage complex cases.
Knowledge of child protection legislation and best practice.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work under pressure and hit the ground running.
