About the Role
As Head of English, you will lead the strategic development of the English curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to drive academic progress, engage learners of all abilities, and foster a genuine love for English language and literature.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the English department with clarity and purpose
* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5
* Use data effectively to inform teaching strategies and track pupil progress
* Develop and promote extracurricular English enrichment opportunities
* Support students with a range of needs, including SEND
* Foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement
* Inspire, mentor, and develop teaching colleagues across the department
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
* Proven leadership experience within a secondary school setting
* Strong subject knowledge in English literature and language
* A creative and strategic approach to curriculum development
* Experience teaching English to A-Level (KS5)
* A commitment to inclusive education and SEND experience
* A collaborative, forward-thinking, and reflective practitioner
