The Role

An opportunity has arisen to join Opensoft Systems’ newly structured Sales Team in a Solution Sales Lead Generation capacity.

This role is not transactional internal sales. Instead, it is focused on identifying, shaping, and qualifying solution-based sales opportunities across our existing database of customers and prospects.

You will act as a commercial front-end to the business, engaging engineering-led organisations in meaningful conversations around training, automation solutions, system upgrades, and digitalisation initiatives. Your primary objective is to generate high quality, sales ready leads for Business Development Managers (BDMs) and senior sales colleagues.

Your commission will be directly linked to the quality and conversion of qualified opportunities, not order processing or reactive sales activity.


Key Responsibilities

* Proactively engage with existing customers and warm prospects from Opensoft Systems’ CRM database
* Lead solution-focused discovery conversations to uncover technical, operational, and commercial needs
* Qualify opportunities against agreed criteria (budget, scope, timing, stakeholders, technical fit)
* Generate and pass sales-ready opportunities to BDMs and senior account managers
* Promote Opensoft’s automation solutions, training services, and system lifecycle offerings
* Support marketing campaigns through structured follow-up and intelligent prospect engagement
* Maintain accurate records of conversations, opportunities, and lead status within the CRM


Collaborate closely with

* Business Development Managers
* Marketing and Operations teams

Occasionally attend customer meetings or site visits where this supports opportunity qualification.


About You

You are commercially minded, curious, and motivated by uncovering opportunity rather than closing quick wins.

You enjoy consultative conversations, asking intelligent questions, and understanding how automation, controls, and industrial systems impact real-world operations. You are comfortable speaking with engineers, managers, and decision-makers, and you know how to progress conversations toward tangible outcomes.


You are

* Structured and organised, with strong follow-up discipline
* Confident on the phone and comfortable leading B2B conversations
* Able to balance independence with close teamwork
* Motivated by performance-based reward and progression


You may come from

* Internal sales with a desire to move into solution-led sales
* A technical or engineering background with strong commercial instincts

An interest in automation, controls, PLC, SCADA, or industrial software is NOT essential. Prior technical sales experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
