We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer based in Bedford to join one of our clients on a full-time permanent basis. Summary of the Design Engineer
Salary: £45,000 per annumLocation: BedfordType of Contract: Permanent, Full time Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:15am - 4:45pm, Fridays 8:15am - 1:45pmBenefits: Pension scheme, Life insurance, Enhanced paternity pay, EAP, Free parkingOur client is a global engineering company that has seen continuous growth for several decades.
Responsibilities of the Design Engineer
* Complete machine design of rotating equipment and components.
* Review sketches, descriptions and specifications.
* Create 3D and 2D models and assemblies.
* Bills of materials.
* Conduct site visits where necessary.
* Provide technical assistance to ensure design requirements are met.
Requirements for a successful Design Engineer
* Qualified HNC/HND in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
* Experience in mechanical rotating equipment & design.
* Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
* Proficiency with Solidworks and 2D/3D CAD modelling and draughting.
* Bills of materials experience.
* Experience with engineering calculations.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
