Your New Role
We are seeking a Trainee Estates Surveyor to join our in-house Estates Practice. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within our multi-disciplinary, RICS-accredited Estate Management Practice, providing valuation and estate management services for Nottinghamshire County Council and third-party clients.
The role offers varied responsibilities, allowing you to build on your academic knowledge and gain experience in property maintenance, account servicing, and property transactions from inception to completion. We support candidates through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence to become Chartered Surveyors.
What You'll Do
* Assist in property management activities, including serving notices, negotiating leases, rent reviews, inspections, and maintaining records.
* Monitor expenditure and prepare accounts related to service charges, meter readings, and authorize payments.
* Prepare valuations for various purposes such as market value, rent, rating, insurance, and assets.
* Participate in negotiations for acquisitions and compulsory purchases, including assessing and settling compensation claims.
* Conduct property viewings for prospective purchasers.
* Prepare technical documentation and contracts for sales, acquisitions, and compensation claims.
Essential Requirements
* Degree accredited by RICS or equivalent in a related field.
* Knowledge of estates management, development, and valuation activities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Valid driving license and access to a car.
Desirable Skills
* Experience managing client relationships.
* Understanding of the political, commercial, and economic context of property management.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety, CDM, and Building Safety Regulations.
