The Opportunity

A leading building services contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to take commercial responsibility for major mechanical and electrical projects across Cardiff. This role suits someone who combines technical expertise with strong commercial instincts and enjoys working on complex, high-value schemes.


Key Responsibilities

* Cost Management — Lead cost planning, forecasting, and financial control across multiple M&E packages.
* Contract Administration — Manage NEC/JCT contracts, variations, change control, and claims.
* Procurement & Subcontract Management — Oversee procurement, negotiate subcontract packages, and manage supply chain performance.
* Commercial Reporting — Produce accurate CVRs, valuations, and monthly commercial reports.
* Risk & Opportunity Management — Identify commercial risks and opportunities to protect and enhance project margins.
* Stakeholder Collaboration — Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to support successful project delivery.


About You

* Strong experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor, ideally at Senior level.
* Background working for an M&E contractor or building services specialist.
* Excellent understanding of NEC and JCT contract forms.
* Confident communicator with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
