Social Worker – Child & Youth Justice Service
Salary: £36,363 – £40,777 per annum
Contract: Fixed Term until April 2027
Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week
Location: East Lancashire (countywide travel required)

The Role
Vacancy: Prevention and Diversion Social Worker
* 1x temporary maternity cover (East-based)
* Fixed term until approximately 09/04/2027
You’ll work in a variety of environments—including office bases, family homes, community settings, custodial establishments and courts—ensuring children and families receive the right help at the right time. Partnership working is key, particularly with parents, carers and multi‑agency professionals.
This role requires travel across the county. You must provide a car for work purposes and hold business‑use insurance. Applicants who cannot drive due to a disability will still be considered.
Professional Requirements
* You must be registered with Social Work England (SWE) or have applied for registration.
* For roles where non‑Social Work qualifications are accepted, candidates may be appointed as a Care Manager instead.
* The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. A DBS disclosure will be required.
