Position Overview
As a Service Controller, you will play a crucial role in optimizing resources to meet customer needs efficiently while maintaining our high standards of service delivery. You’ll be supported by the expertise of the Finning Group, benefiting from world-class facilities and cutting-edge technology.
Your Responsibilities
* Customer Engagement: Understand and respond to customer requests, prioritizing their needs and allocating the right resources.
* Job Management: Plan jobs to maximize engineer productivity, manage job progress, and ensure resolution benefits both Finning and our customers.
* Work Order Management: Open and close work orders accurately to maximize billing accuracy and identify opportunities for safety reworks and servicing.
* Team Leadership: Directly manage a team of 4-8 engineers, providing mentorship and addressing performance issues to ensure high customer satisfaction.
* Data Management: Keep all systems updated with accurate job information and load trial data to relevant platforms.
What We’re Looking For
Specific Skills
* Strong customer service skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
* Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
* Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and good IT skills.
* A collaborative team player.
Knowledge
* Understanding of gas and diesel engine products.
* Familiarity with engine/fuel control systems.
* Experience with parts identification and ordering processes.
* Knowledge of warranty and commissioning processes.
Education and Experience
* Apprentice-trained engineer with at least 5 years of experience.
* Experience in customer contact and major repair planning.
* Problem diagnostic experience in both customer and engineer contexts.
* Experience in a similar role within the industry.
Working Environment
This is an office-based role with a flexible working pattern between 7 AM and 6 PM on weekdays, with potential Saturday work as needed. You will be responsible for planning and organizing the dispatch of approximately 25 regional field engineers.
