Overview
My client are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying within the construction industry and be ready to take on challenging projects.
Responsibilities
* Conduct cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and cost analysis for construction projects
* Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
* Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
* Monitor project progress and provide financial reports to management
* Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost efficiency and project success
* Participate in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
* Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying
Day-to-day
* Collaborating with project teams to prepare accurate cost estimates and bids
* Communicating and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
* Attending site visits and meetings with project stakeholders
* Reviewing and analysing project costs and making recommendations for cost savings
* Documenting and reporting on project financials and progress
* Keeping up to date with industry standards and best practices
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, pricing, and procurement processes
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Professional certification such as RICS or MRICS are a plus
