About Us
The Flash Pack is a leading technical production agency that specialises in immersive content experiences and permanent installations. We work with world-renowned brands such as Google, Dyson, and Burberry to amplify digital footprints through creative technologies deployed at live events and branded environments.
We design and deliver experiences built around high-end photo and video capture systems. Our in-house team includes creatives, producers, technicians, developers, and fabricators — all working together to deliver rapid, high-quality solutions.
The Role
We are looking for a highly capable AV Field Technician to support the delivery of a wide range of live activations and permanent installations — from photobooths at film premieres to cutting-edge bullet time rigs for brands like Red Bull.
This role requires technical versatility, a practical mindset, and a passion for problem-solving. You’ll be at the frontline of our project delivery, supporting the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of our photo, video, and AV equipment.
You must be comfortable working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, both in the UK and abroad, and be prepared to work outside of standard hours when supporting live events.
It is essential that you have a UK drivers license as this role involves travelling to site to troubleshoot and install equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Install and operate AV/photo systems, including The Flash Pack’s proprietary technologies (e.g. flashbooths, retro booths, bullet time, photogrammetry).
• Configure and test computers, cameras, printers, lighting, and AV networking equipment pre-event.
• Support shipping, packing, delivery and on-site installation of technical kit.
• Troubleshoot issues with IT, AV and networking systems in real time during activations.
• Maintain and support permanent installations remotely and on-site.
• Train internal teams and partners on technical setup and basic troubleshooting.
• Work collaboratively with the wider technical team to maintain an organised workshop and equipment inventory.
• Document faults and provide feedback to the wider team.
• Support research and testing of new tools, components and technologies.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Full UK driving licence (role involves regular travel within the UK and occasionally to Europe and the US).
• Strong understanding of AV network configuration: LAN, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, routers.
• Competent in power distribution and safe use of electrical systems for AV.
• Working knowledge of electrical safety, circuit protection and basic circuit layouts.
• Confident communicator with a team-first attitude and willingness to take initiative.
Desirable Skills (Bonus)
• Experience with microcontrollers (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi), embedded systems, or PLCs.
• Knowledge of Linux systems, bash scripting, and networking.
• Experience in Photography, lighting, and video cameras
• Ability to solder and repair small electronic components.
• Experience developing custom control systems for interactive installations.
Working Hours & Flexibility
• This is a full-time, permanent role based on 37.5 hours per week.
• Working hours are flexible and will vary depending on project requirements.
• Evening and weekend work is often required due to the nature of live events.
• We operate a TOIL (Time Off in Lieu) system to ensure fair balance when additional hours are worked.
Package & Benefits
• Holidays: 25 days per year plus one additional day for every year of service up to 28.
• Pension: 5% employee contribution (with tax relief), 3% employer contribution.
• Healthcare Cash Plan: Claim back up to £640 annually on everyday healthcare costs.
