About the Role: As Head of History, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of the History department, ensuring the continued delivery of an engaging and challenging curriculum from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. You will lead a team of passionate history teachers, driving standards and fostering a love of the subject among students. Key Responsibilities: Providing a clear vision and strategic direction for the History department. Leading, managing, and developing a team of dedicated history teachers. Overseeing the planning, delivery, and assessment of the history curriculum to ensure excellent student progress. Inspiring a love of history in students through innovative teaching methods and extracurricular activities. Monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and learning within the department. Contributing to the wider life of the school and its positive community ethos. The Ideal Candidate will have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A degree in History or a related subject. A proven track record of successful history teaching at secondary level. Experience in a leadership or management role within a history department is desirable. A passion for history and a commitment to academic excellence. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. The ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
