Overview
To manage the smooth & efficient running of all operations for product line(s) in area of responsibility. To ensure the planning, directing, organizing & sourcing of manpower & equipment ensuring client operational activity is undertaken. Monitoring performance to identify & implement improvements to achieve maximum operational efficiency & customer focus. To achieve business goals & objectives whilst consistently ensuring expenditure is maintained in line with budget.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
* Ensure that all operations are performed in a professional, efficient, safe & cost-effective manner, providing quality service to the client.
* Overall responsibility for department budgets, including gaining approval & ensuring work plans are put in place to achieve them. Must be prepared to continually review expenditure & highlight any differentials to management. Prepare budget action plans for management review.
* Ensure that all equipment, plant & substances used are suitable for the task & kept in good working order, including regular maintenance & servicing of equipment which will require close liaison with the workshop/maintenance.
* Monitor department performance to ensure service quality standards are being maintained; identify any areas for improvement and discuss recommendations with Management.
* Maintain close liaison with operational supervisors & co‑ordinators to ensure full awareness of project progress & problems. Ensure high quality service is continually provided to achieve both the project & client performance indicators.
* Ensure that scheduling, planning & forecasting of the forward workload is regularly updated to ensure optimum use of resources.
* Review operational requirements & business needs; propose requirements for capital expenditure to support future business requirements.
* Ensure that all invoicing is actioned in a timely manner, & queries are resolved as soon as possible to ensure payment meets DSO targets.
* Ensure that the latest revision of documentation is used with outdated versions being removed from circulation. Ensure that operational supervisors/crews are informed of, and understand any changes to, operational procedures/job planning paperwork.
* Ensure that all incidents and non‑conformances are reported in line with appropriate procedures & deadlines; ensure that all incidents are investigated with corrective actions raised as required. Where appropriate, participate in incident investigations.
* Ensure that equipment utilisation is monitored & unutilised equipment is clearly identified. As necessary, ensure that all 3rd party rental items are tracked to ensure they are returned to the supplier at the earliest opportunity.
* Always maintain close liaison with clients (or their representatives); seek to identify any further business opportunity.
* Develop a departmental recruitment & development plan that will meet the requirements of client operations & future growth opportunities of the company.
* Supervise direct reports to ensure all operational, delivery, safety, Quality Management & financial targets are met.
* Liaise with team members, internal departments & clients to ensure all aspects of the operations are discussed with relevant parties and ensure effective communication to allow safe operations & task completion as per plan & budget.

* Extensive experience working with downhole tools or cementing product lines.
* Comprehensive management experience.
