An established and highly respected precision engineering business within the aerospace supply chain is seeking a Planning & Estimating Engineer to join its commercial team. Operating in a high-mix, low-volume environment, this is a key role bridging commercial and manufacturing functions, supporting the successful delivery of customer projects from enquiry through to production.
Key responsibilities:
* Managing RFQs/RFPs, from small batches to large work packages
* Preparing accurate estimates and customer quotations
* Conducting contract reviews to ensure compliance with requirements
* Creating parts, BOMs, and route plans within the ERP system
* Processing sales orders and raising purchase/subcontract documentation
* Liaising with production, engineering, and quality teams
* Monitoring order progress and updating customers
* Supporting reporting through data analysis and performance metrics
Key requirements:
* Experience within aerospace precision engineering or CNC machining
* Strong understanding of aerospace standards and manufacturing processes
* Experience in estimating, planning, or programme management
* Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
* Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills
