Covering South, East and West Wales, Ty Hafan offer a newly refurbished working environment set within idyllic grounds just a short distance from the metropolitan area of Cardiff. We have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Creative Arts Practitioner to join our friendly, dedicated team at Ty Hafan. This is a part time of 30 hours per week on a fixed term contract covering a maternity period of 12 months. About the role We are looking for a passionate and driven qualified Creative Arts Practitioner to join our Psychological Therapies Service, which forms part of our bereavement service offer. The Creative Arts Practitioner role will assess the holistic needs of individual children and plan and facilitate meaningful and appropriate 1-1 Therapeutic Art interventions, and deliver creative arts led group interventions alongside other Therapists. The role holder will be pivotal in the delivery of memory work for children and families using a number of creative methods. This post will be working with children and families to create long lasting memories and often in extremely emotive situations. The role will be based at the hospice and in the community. Hours for the role are 30 hours. Applicants will be required to work flexibly, occasional weekend and evenings as and when required. About you You will have a degree in Creative Arts or an equivalent qualification, along with experience providing focused therapeutic art interventions for children of varying abilities. Youll also be experienced in delivering therapeutic work within multi-sensory environments, tailoring your approach to each childs needs. In addition, you will bring creative experience in facilitating memory-making activities, including hand casting, canvas prints and other personalised pieces. You will have knowledge of childrens development, assessment and planning for therapeutic interventions, including an understanding of the additional developmental needs of children with complex medical needs and disabilities. Alongside this, youll be able to plan and organise your workload effectively, prioritising as needed. Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills will enable you to build supportive relationships, and youll also bring knowledge of a range of communication methods to engage children and families in a meaningful and accessible way.
