Job Responsibilities
* Administer prescribed medications to detainees in accordance with clinical protocols, maintaining accurate records and monitoring for adverse reactions.
* Conduct comprehensive health assessments and provide ongoing medical care, managing both physical and mental health needs.
* Recognize and promptly manage acute medical conditions, ensuring effective treatment and referral to specialist care when necessary.
* Carry out forensic sampling procedures, including collecting blood samples for road traffic offences, ensuring strict compliance with legal protocols and maintaining accurate documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse or Paramedic with a minimum of 3 years post‑qualifying experience.
* Full driving licence and own vehicle for shift use.
* Preferred previous experience in A&E, walk‑in centre, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, or as a Paramedic Practitioner/Registered Nurse in a relevant discipline.
* Must have right to work (RTW) in the UK, have lived in the UK and hold a British passport or ILR for at least 3 years with no absences longer than 3 months.
* All candidates subject to Police Vetting and Disclosure & Barring Service check.
Location
Clough Road Custody Suite, Hull and Birchin Way Custody Suite, Grimsby. The role may require working at both suites and assisting in other areas of the custody service.
