Main duties of the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide clinical leadership to theimplementation of the programme across the region
Deliver training to Trust & Site leads on managing intrapartum fetal deterioration (IFD)and impacted fetal head (IFH), ensuring fidelity to the ABC Programme methods.
Provide ongoing coaching & support (both informalremote support/formal on-site supervision) to Trust training leads toensure continuous adherence to ABC training methods.
Support visits to individual Trusts/sites to oversee andvalidate training delivery.
Collaborate closely with Patient SafetyCollaboratives (PSCs) and maternity colleagues, offering clinical insight to supportimplementation, quality improvement initiatives, and alignment with existingmaternity safety and deterioration strategies.
Participate in monthly reporting meetings with the nationalPerinatal Deterioration Operational Group (PDOG), providing feedback ontraining and implementation progress.
Support effective integration of ABC training intomandatory staff training schedules within Trusts/sites
Support any planned events or cascade of keymessages to perinatal colleagues.
Work alongside the seniorproject manager at UCLPartners and clinical colleagues in North Central andNorth East London trusts, contributing valuable clinical insights.
Additional deliverables may be required but will be discussed and agreedprior to initiation of the workstream.

The Local Clinical Midwifery Lead Midwife lead will report to theDirector of Implementation, UCLPartners Patient Safety Lead. The role is afixed term position, until 31st March 2026, with possibility ofextension, with a 8 hour work week, 2 PAs.The remuneration for this post is competitive depending on experience and we welcome applications from senior band 6, 7 and 8a.
Secondments will beconsidered. Please discuss the possibility of a secondment with your linemanager before applying.
Ideally the postholder willstart in early September 2025. Comprehensive subject matter training andsupport will be provided to you before you begin training others.
The office base will be HaleHouse, 76-78 Portland Place, London W1B 1NT, and the role will involve regulartravel to all North Central and North East London Maternity units. You willattend all Trusts in North Central and North East London.
Applicantsmust have availability Mon-Fri 9am-5pm to work within our team. Ideally,this will be a set day each week, andwill be alongside the obstetric faculty lead.
