SEMH Teacher – Permanent Position Location: Northampton A highly reputable, award-winning group of special educational needs (SEN) schools is seeking a passionate and resilient SEMH Teacher to join the permanent teaching team at one of their specialist schools in Northampton. Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of learners with SEMH requirements. Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Monitor and record progress, ensuring learning goals are met and reviewed regularly. Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic care and education. Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in line with the school’s ethos. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Proven experience working with pupils who have SEMH needs, ideally in a specialist or alternative provision setting. In-depth understanding of SEMH strategies, behaviour management, and trauma-informed practice. Strong ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students and colleagues. Skilled at differentiating lessons to meet varied learning styles and abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
