A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Services Advisor Accountant to join my clients team in their Derby offices on a Hybrid basis.\nThis role will be instrumental in supporting the business by undertaking Audit activities, as well as the the preparation of Tax returns, and assisting with the provision of a comprehensive accounting. The position is predominantly office based but would include some need to stay away during field work\nResponsibilities:\nPlanning and Preparation for Audits:\n• Preparing audit plans and risk assessments based on the client’s financial records.\n• Liaising with clients to gather necessary documentation and information before the audit.\nExecution & Reporting of Audits:\n• Conducting audit fieldwork, including testing and verification of financial statements.\n• Reviewing the client’s internal controls, identifying areas of risk, and suggesting improvements.\n• Performing substantive testing of balances and transactions, including revenue, expenditure, and payroll.\nFinalising Audits:\n• Reviewing and finalising audit files for sign-off by senior managers or partners.\n• Assisting with post-audit client meetings to review audit results and action plans.\nTax Work:\n• Preparing and submitting corporate tax returns (CT600) and personal tax returns (Self Assessment) to HMRC.\n• Ensuring clients are compliant with VAT, corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax regulations.\nAdvising on Tax Matters:\n• Offering advice on various tax matters, including VAT, capital allowances, tax reliefs, and inheritance tax.\n• Providing guidance on the tax implications of business structures, mergers, acquisitions, and disposals.\nSkills & Experience:\n• Accounting industry, or Practice experience is mandatory\n• AAT, ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified, or part qualified\n• Ability to develop professional and technical knowledge\n• Familiarity with accounting software\nShould you have any questions or wish to apply please do not hesitate to contact Clear Legal and Financial Recruitment.\nPlease Note: Due to the number of applications we receive we may be unable to respond to every application directly.
