You’ll thrive in a design, manufacturing, and testing environment, collaborating closely across engineering, production, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, maintain, and execute test procedures and plans for pumping systems, control panels, and associated equipment.
* Conduct functional, electrical, and performance testing on low-voltage systems, with involvement in high-voltage testing through approved subcontractors.
* Manage external testing and electrical subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards, specifications, and project schedules.
* Troubleshoot electrical, control, and system-level issues during assembly and testing.
* Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and customer witness testing.
* Collaborate with design engineering to validate electrical designs and resolve test failures.
* Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic for accuracy and testability.
* Collect, analyse, and report test data, preparing compliance documentation.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to test methods, equipment, and product reliability.
* Oversee calibration of all test-related equipment and review supplier documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Electrical qualifications or apprenticeship background.
* Experience as an Electrical or Test Engineer in industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
* Familiarity with pump systems, rotating equipment, or large electro-mechanical assemblies.
* Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems (motors, VFDs, MCCs, PLCs, sensors).
Skills & Knowledge:
* Strong understanding of electrical design and testing, particularly low-voltage systems.
* Ability to read, interpret, and produce electrical drawings and schematics.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing/test environment.
* Strong attention to detail, organisation, and structured approach to testing and reporting.
* Knowledge of industrial safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures.
* Proficiency with test equipment (multimeters, megohmmeters, power analysers, current transformers).
* Confident working across engineering, production teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Comfortable in a project-driven, custom-build environment with a continuous improvement mindset.
