Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Rail Systems Engineer to join AECOM’s Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team in the UK, focusing on rail projects across the infrastructure lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver: Develop system engineering plans and processes; develop system definitions, technical requirements, and system architectures.
* Oversee: Manage technical requirements using tools such as DOORS and ComplyPro; deliver systems engineering processes to support customer requirements.
* Provide Expertise: Evaluate interrelationship of system requirements and design aspects; develop scope of works and work packages; serve as senior technical resource.
* Ensure Quality: Provide specialized technical input to studies and design; develop procedures to facilitate high‑quality, cost‑effective work.
* Collaborate: Participate in multidisciplinary reviews of deliverables; develop cost estimates and effort estimates; perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings; prepare technical specification sections; support engineering budget and schedule development.
Qualifications
* Engineering degree or equivalent.
* Chartered Engineer status.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Experience in railway systems safety and assurance, including system safety and interoperability.
* Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
